One big happy family

So today I decided, being a cooler than average Georgia summer day, to put the ducklings into the run outside and let them have some fresh air. This included putting Naili in with them. I was shocked to see her getting along with all of them. It was cute to see them all follow her as if she was their mother.

The container to the left is what I carried them all in (at the same time). I had put a small towel in there to help keep them from sliding around but it didn't work. Naili behaved herself very very well. But, when getting ready to bring them in I put Naili in first and then Omelet and I had a tough time getting the others to come near me and during this time Naili started to peck at Omelet.

Had my wife bring me a water bowl for them. My son was in the run with me and I turned my back on him. When I turned around he had the smallest one (Coco) upside down and was squeezing him. No harm done though and he's two so I wasn't surprised.

This is all that is left from a tomato I grabbed off the vine right there and squished it and threw it in.  I'm so glad someone other than me will eat raw tomatoes around here!

I think one on the left has a bit of tomato hanging out of it's mouth. They really enjoyed poking around and eating some grass and stuff.

A little blurry. I was using a Canon PowerShot A720 and it's just not as fast as my Canon 20D, but it was on hand.

Nail is such a big girl and really enjoys being near me. I'm so glad she behaved with the others. If you blow the photo up you can see her next set of feathers coming in! That's Omelet in upper left corner. I have no name for the middle and the one with the Mohawk on right I simply call Mohawk till I come up with something better.

Too cute!

Sunny is on the left bottom. I have not come up with a name for the smaller yellow. I'm thinking of changing Sunny's name as it wont be as good once it turns white.

And here's my boy sticking his tongue out at me. Also cute!

  2. Perhaps I should stick him in with them and then play where's Waldo or something. :0
